| Abstract |
The newspaper article states that Mr. Jerome Mossman was a manufacturer of wood-turned novelties. He employed between six to twelve men and although he is supplying largely a western and Canadian trade, his wood-turned novelties are much sought after in New England. This is one of the branches of manufacturing in which a few men with the proper machinery can turn out a great amount of work and a large business can be carried on without making so much of a showing as in some others. Mr. Mossman was a member of the Board of Trade and the Merchants' Association and later served as one of the directors. He was also prominent in the Knights of Honor and one of the city's genial manufacturers and good citizens. |
