Abstract 1. The newspaper clipping, dated July 1980, was from the Winchendon School Paper called "The Progress." It states the Mr. Leo R. O'Neill, the senior member of the facult, delivered the Commencement Address at the Nineteenth Annual Commencement Exercise.
2. The second clipping, dated March 1972, stated that Mr. Leo O'Neill donated a collection of 8 oil paintings and water colors to the Fitchburg Art Museum. Among the American artists represented were: Patrick Morgan, William Maynard, Loring W. Coleman, artist in residence at Middlesex School, Vincente Estsban and Mervin Jules. Many of these paintings were collected when Mr. O'Neill resided in Cuba, Puerto Rico and Japan.
3. The third clipping shows the residents of the Sundial Apartments viewing the 50th Regional Exhibition of arts and crafts at the Fitchburg Art Museum. Mr. O'Neill was pictured with the three other residents.
4. The fourth clipping shows Mr. O'Neill and Ms. Martha Bedard, of the Fitchburg Public Library discussing the current new work of art on display. One new work of art is on display each week and the art work is available for the regular two month loan period. Included in the new collection are works by area artists, Roger Graham, Phyllis Bezanson, Helga Raftery, Cheryl Griffiths, Connie Slater, Don Ogier and Sante Graziano.
5. The fifth newspaper clipping states that the Fitchburg Art Museum opens its fall exhibition program with a collection of oils, watercolor and graphic art by 21 artists. The collection is a loan by Leo R. O'Neill of Dorchester, presently an instructor of Spanish at the Winchendon School.
6. The sixth newspaper clipping states that Mr. Leo R. O'Neill has been named the manger of the Stairway Gallery of the Fitchburg Art Museum. Mr. O'Neill will consult with local area artists and the public to stock the gallery and sell art work. The Stairway Gallery is the largest sales gallery for area artists in the region. More than 30 artists are represented and the works in the galleries change regularly.
7. The seventh newspaper clipping, dated Dec. 27, 1980, which appeared in the Fitchburg Sentinel tells how Mr. Leo O'Neill was designated as manager of the Stairway Gallery of the Fitchburg Art Museum. The article further tell us about his accomplishments throughout his life.
8. The eighth newspaper clipping states that the Fitchburg Art Museum honored two people, Miss Alice Cushman and Mr. Leo O'Neill. The article further stated that Mr. O'Neill gave much dedicated service to the museum by being a front desk volunteer and coordinator of the Stairway Sales Gallery, but also by giving a number of art works for its collection. Mr. O'Neill serves as a liaison between the Museum and the elderly and Hispanic communities.
9. The program shows 29 paintings of the Leo O'Neill Collection which was held at the Fitchburg Art Museum. This exhibition consisted of Paintings and Graphic Art.
9. A tribute to Mr. Leo O'Neill given by Mr. Guy Farwell, who was serving at the Interim Moderator of the Sundial House Committee, The Ambassadors.
