Abstract 1. The extract of his letters occurred when he was in the army. He enlisted in the Fitchburg Fusiliers, April 29, 1857 for five years.
2. The biography tells us that Ai Dakin Osborne was in the Civil War in 1861, and was shot through the knee at Poolesville. His leg was amputated after his capture. He died in prison camp Dec. 1, 1861. The information regarding his years in the army is contained in the extract of his letters.
3. The information paper tells us that his body was removed from
Soldiers Cemetery--Contraband Cemetery, Leesburg, Va. on Oct. 23, 1867 and transferred to National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. Cemetery, section F., Block 2, Range 5, Grave 79. It was said that the same negro helped to remove the body that buried it in Dec. 1861.
