| Abstract |
1. A newspaper article, dated March 13, 1978, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Camera Club of Fitchburg, shows a picture of Dana Goodwin, a charter member. 2. Another newspaper article, dated Jan. 15, 1977, shows Arthur J, Kissner, chief librarian at the Fitchburg Public Library presenting Mr. Dana Goodwin with the book, "The Central Mass." 3. The third newspaper article, dated March 11, 1981 shows Mr. Goodwin with the bell that topped the last switching locomotive on the old Cushing Railroad, which operated from the late 1800's into the forties. 4.The obituary tells us that Mr. Dana Goodwin was the retired president and treasurer of the W.C. Goodwin shoe store in downtown Fitchburg. The store was founded by his father William in l898. Mr. Goodwin's hobby was railroads. He was a member and past president of the Railway and Locomotive Historical Society Inc. He served as the first national president of the Railroad Enthusiastics Club. Also, a member of the B & M Railroad Historical Society, the Massachusetts Bay Society of Railroad Enthusiastics, an honorary member of the Old Wheels Club, an organization of retired railroad workers. 5. The B & M (Boston and Maine) Railroad published a special issued in l989 dedicated to the memory of Mr. Dana Goodwin. |
