Abstract 1. The newspaper article, dated June 18,1892, appeared in the Fitchburg Daily Sentinel. It stated that Mr. William Goodwin was the inspector of buildings in Fitchburg. He was the oldest builder in the city. This experience qualified him for the position to inspect the construction and repairs of the buildings belonging to the city. He helped erect the city hall, the Methodist church at Wesleyan place and other buildings which are standing proof of
good workmanship.
Mr. Goodwin was a member of the city government, when he represented Ward 3 in the Council. He was also a member of the Board of Trade.
