| Abstract |
The obituary tells us that Dr. Edwin Holmes served on the medical-dental staff at Burbank Hospital from 1942 to 1968 and was chief of the hospital's dental staff from 1942 to 1945. He previously was clinical instructor in dentistry at Harvard School of Dental Medicine from 1926 to 1929. Dr. Holmes was in the forefront fight for the fluoridation of public water supplies and dental education and once served as chairman of several groups to promote these programs. He belonged to many dental associations throughout the state and country. He was a member and past high priest of Thomas Royal Arch Chapter and a member of Aurora Lodge of Masons, Aleppo Temple Shrine in Wilmington, Jerusalem Commandery Knights Templar and Lady Emma Chapter Order of Eastern Star. He was a "dad" adviser to Fitchburg Assembly, Order of Rainbow. |
