Abstract A term paper written in 1987 examines a case of election fraud that took place in 1932. It was a case of ballot tampering that would have gone unnoticed had it not been for a recount that revealed the fraud. Candidates for the two House seats were incumbent representatives Louis N. Deschenes and Henry A. Estabrook on the Republican ticket and Democratic candidates John J. Gilmartin and Robert E. Greenwood.
Grand jury investigation into the scandal led to the arrest of election officer, Marguerite E. Landry.
