Dates of Accumulation 1953
Abstract A pageant depicting the history of the First Parish in Fitchburg. First presented in 1953 on the 10th anniversary of the federation of the First Parish Unitarian Church and the First Universalist Society of Fitchburg. This program presented May 4 and 5,1968 in celebration of 200 years of religious freedom in Fitchburg.
The acts are: Act 1: "Gathered in Covenaunt" Scene 1: Cowdin's Tavern 1764. Scene 2: First Meetinghouse 1777.
Act 2: "In Sore Strife" Scene 1: Town Meeting 1787. Scene 2: 9 years of 99 town meetings 1786-1795.
Act 3: "Let Libertie of Conscience Come Forward" Scene 1: Village Street- early 1800's. Scene 2: Village street-following day. Scene 3: Town Meeting-1802
Epilogue: "God Makes Roome for us all" Scene 1: Second Meeting House- 1824.
The program includes the words to the music, the cast, pertinent information.
