| Description |
A framed hand tinted photograph of John Putnam, "Senior Founder of Putnam Machine Co." Early in his life it begins he was the subject of a sketch, yet because of a quirk of fate John Putnam was able to be captured on camera. For a long time after the sketch of lantern slide the camera remained incidental and photographs were occasional. However John Putnam was born into a time that produced photography. John Putnam seen here was not entirely immune to the practical and aesthetic attractions of the new technique of reproduciblity.Beside the photographic history itself, the process for creating photographs remained primarily the same for the next 100 years. The photograph is hand-tinted and possesive of sterling wealth of information into nineteenth century's character. |
