Object Name Cover, Pillow
Description A portrait painted onto a silk pillow cover with cord on the edges and tassels in red, white, and blue. The portrait is of two patriotic women, probably suffragettes.

Antique frame with gold gilt from late nineteenth century. Robert L. Hunker framed the portrait with this frame in 1962.

Provenance Bequeathed to Robert L. Hunker by his aunt Ada Hunker Payne, the eldest sister of his father, John D. Hunker. She inherited the collection from the family of her husband, Hugh Fish McKain Payne. They were very involved in the Masonic Lodge and patriotic memorabilia. This was probably bought at a fair or convention.
