| Provenance |
RLH purchased this piece from Gramercy galleries in 1963 in NYC from an English shipment, with the intention of reselling it. The frame is a replica that RLH had done by a company in NYC that specializes in replicas of 18, 19 and early 20th century frames. Further research on this company is needed. RLH had this at the West Market Street address, then, once he moved it was put in the Peninsula gallery in 1963 and because it did not sell, Mrs. Hunker wished to have it at her home at Turkeyfoot Lake, where it remained until her death. RLH then put it where it is now, placed in his Peninsula dining room. |
