Description
Set of eight walnut frame Art Deco dining chairs in the style of Ruhlmann. Each has a back frame designed in pieces (not bent wood) that curve to the back side with a front face that is flat. The side pieces sweep upward and outline the oval back rest shape and front panel that is inset with eight pie shaped walnut pieces. The single back piece is burled walnut. The entire louped outer edge is faced with a 3/4 " solid hand forged glossy brass strip. The seat is comprised of a wood "tray" that holds a custom covered (not orginal) white naugahide cushion. Front legs are straight four sided but tapered smaller to bottom while back are curved slightly backward as well. Front two legs are tipped with flat brass plate. See Provenance and Notes.
