Description
|
| Richard Morris Hunt (1827-1895) was widely regarded by his contemporaries as the dean of American architects. He was a seminal figure in the establishment of architecture as a profession in the United States (a founder and president of the American Institute of Architects). This work covers his life, his buildings (all of his major commissions and many of his minor ones are pictured, discussed, and evaluated), and his time, The Gilded Age. |
