Summary Unabridged republication of the original (1906) edition. Third of four volumes, this one covers the years from 1720-1770. Mahogany replaced walnut for both hardness and availability. Includes examples of dining and writing tables, sofas, commodes, bookcases, bureaus, gueridons and candlesticks, sideboards, beds, settees, chairs, clothes presses, wash stands, and pole screens. Also includes photographs of entire rooms, 15 plates, 254 photographic illustrations, and index.
