Description
|
| A presentation of John Soane's major works through black and white photographs and most importantly through the reproduction of over 60 of the masterful watercolors from the Soane Museum archives; in many cases the only surviving record of his work. Includes essays on Soane, the man and the style and Soane and his contemporaries. Three major works are discussed in detail, the Soane Museum, the Bank of England, and the Dulwich Picture gallery. Also features a list of buildings and a selected bibliography. |
