| Description |
Small red stone bowl with convex bottom and slightly convex top surface. The interior of the bowl is conical in shape. This type of container was used by a kahuna (medical/religious practitioner) to perform sorcery ('ana'ana). The goal of the sorcerer was to cause the death of the victim. To cause death, the sorcerer put eyelashes, fingernails, hair or other body parts of the intended victim into the bowl and placed a curse.
